KB-000455: What is the frame rate of the ShowMate?

PowerPoint Projection:

There is no programmed limitation to the number of frames that the ShowMate can produce per second. On average, the Impatica ShowMate projects an impaticized PowerPoint at 15 fps. The Impatica for PowerPoint software (which converts the PowerPoint to a format that the ShowMate can  read) encodes the file at 15 fps. Given that, the fps limitation is imposed by the file format and not the ShowMate.

With animations that are demanding for the ShowMate processor (e.g. animations and slide transition effects that require a full screen refresh (e.g. fade-in)), the frame rate will fall below 15 fps momentarily but will resume after the processor-intensive animation is complete.

Screen Projection:
The bottleneck with screen projection is how fast the device in question can create and deliver the screen projection data to the ShowMate.

On average you can expect:

BlackBerry: 3-5 fps for full screen refreshes (dependant on what is happening on the device (full screen or partial screen data refresh), how fast the device can provide the screen data and what the connection type is (Bluetooth (BT) (slower) or USB (3-4 times faster than BT) ).

Windows Mobile: 8-10 fps for full screen refreshes (dependant on what is happening on the device (full screen or partial screen data refresh), how fast the device can provide the screen data and what the connection type is (Bluetooth (BT) (slower) or USB (3-4 times faster than BT) ).
