KB-000302: When I attempt to use the Put File button on the BlackBerry Transfer tab in Impatica for PowerPoint BlackBerry Edition, the software just shuts down. There are no errors or messages. How do I resolve this?

This can be caused by two situations:

1- You do not have the BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed on your PC. Go to: and select to download, at a minimum, BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.2 Service Pack 2.

Install the software. Once installed, launch the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and connect your BlackBerry device to the computer via USB.The Desktop Manager software should create a connection and ask you to create encryption keys by shaking your mouse around on the screen.

With that complete, you can close the Desktop Manager. Impatica for PowerPoint does not directly use the Desktop Manager for transferring files but we use some of the components that are installed with it for the Put File functionality.

Close Impatica for PowerPoint and launch it again.
Reimpaticize your PowerPoint file.
Once complete, got to the "BlackBerry Transfer" tab and follow the instructions printed on that tab.

2- A second reason may be that you are using a newer BlackBerry with a 4.2.2+ operating system, and Impatica for PowerPoint version 3. There is a known issue with these devices that requires the latest version of Impatica for PowerPoint BlackBerry Edition. If this situation applies to you please go to and download and install the latest version of the desktop software.

Reimpaticize your PowerPoint file with the new version of the software.
Once complete, got to the "BlackBerry Transfer" tab and follow the instructions printed on that tab.
