KB-000261: How does logging work with Impatica for PowerPoint v4.0

Enhanced Logging Capabilities:

Logging File Name: imp4ppt.log

Log File Location: Log file will be located in the same folder as the Impatica for PowerPoint preferences file:

·         With Windows XP and earlier:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\Impatica\Impatica for PowerPoint\4

·         With Vista:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Impatica\Impatica for PowerPoint\4\

·         With Mac OS X:
<USERNAME>\Library\Preferences\Impatica\Impatica for PowerPoint\4\

Log Level Settings: FATAL, ERROR, WARN, INFO, DEBUG

·         Default level is INFO (the INFO level will produce log entries for all levels except for DEBUG)

·         To adjust the logging level from the default INFO level, enter this line in your Impatica for PowerPoint preferences file: imp4ppt.prefs:

loglevel=<desired level> (e.g. loglevel=debug)

Logging Detail: Logging capabilities exist for conversion of all PowerPoint files but more detailed logging is produced with PPT 2007 Files

Additional Logging Information:

·         Log file is overwritten with each launch of the Impatica for PowerPoint software
